heart-of-dorkness:

Rollins proves that with jazz, as with any music, less is often more. The solos on this album combine the “edgy” melodic choices of Parker-style bebop with less frantic rhythms and tempos. The result is much more laid back than the Bird’s chaotic noodling, and thus, much more accessible to the casual listener.
